State of Tennessee Department of Insurance Requirements

Effective January 1 2009, Licensees are required to complete 24 hours including 3 hours ethics every 2 years. Expiration date falls on last day of birth month every 2 years.
Exemptions: producer who has been licensed continuously since 1994. No interruptions in license. A producer whose license has been inactive for any amount of time since 1994 will not qualify for the exemption

Effective January 1 2009, Public Adjusters are required to complete 24 hours including 3 hours ethics every 2 years. The education required shall be in addition to any other C.E. requirements for other professional licenses held by the individual.
Exemptions: public adjusters not licensed for 1 full year OR nonresident public adjusters who have met C.E requirement in their home state.

Licensees are required to complete 24 hours including 3 hours ethics every 2 years.

Effective until December 31 2008:Those licensed for more than 15 years and/or over the age of 65 are exempt from continuing education.

Exams are non-monitored.

Up to 12 excess credit hours may be carried forward to the next renewal period.

Courses are repeatable every 3 years.

Producers have up to one year to do their CE hours in a late status; however, the license will be inactive (expired license) in which time, Producers May NOT do any transactions; once the CE hours are completed and the late renewal fee has been paid then the license will be reinstated. The late fee is $60 Plus the original Fee of $60 (this fee was verified on 8/5/15 with TN-DOI)

Course provider is responsible in reporting course completion using the SBS online system, which a $1 per credit processing fee must be paid.
